The client approached me with an outdated hotel website that didn’t reflect the elegance of their boutique hospitality experience. The original site was clunky on mobile, visually inconsistent, and lacked modern features that customers now expect - like an intuitive booking system and immersive media content.
My task was to completely redesign and rebuild the website using Figma for design and Webflow for development, with a strong emphasis on maintaining simplicity, clarity, and performance. I also handled basic SEO optimization, accessibility considerations, and performance tweaks to ensure fast loading.
Key features I implemented:
One of the most challenging aspects was balancing the design’s minimalism with the client’s desire to showcase a lot of visual content. I solved this by structuring content in a clear visual hierarchy, using progressive disclosure (sliders) to keep the layout clean without sacrificing information depth.
Another subtle challenge was ensuring the booking form felt native and trustworthy without using third-party widgets that clashed visually. I designed and styled a form from scratch, using subtle motion and spacing to encourage engagement.
This project pushed me to fine-tune my design-to-development workflow in Webflow, particularly with structuring CMS content and managing animations without overwhelming the page. I also deepened my understanding of layout performance and Core Web Vitals an essential for a site that targets international travelers who may be browsing on slower connections.
